Where is my Faith?

29 01 2009

I am amazed at people who have deep relegious beliefe and faith. I have never experienced it and I feel very disconnected when I see it. Its not like I do not believe in God! My life is like all the fast paced working IT people with little time to ponder about these things.

But there are times when you want to connect to something – to just cut out everything around you and focus on this one thing. Something you can turn to when you badly want to believe in destiny or even question about events around you. I want to believe and trust someone who will help me make take the best decisions.

intense irrational reality of a dream

“See the sky about to rain,
broken clouds and rain.
Locomotive, pull the train,
whistle blowing
through my brain.
Signals curling on an open plain,
rolling down the track again”

I wish I could turn back time.

Uma and Shyama

24 01 2009

Today on my way to the class I saw two men talking in sign langugae with such huge smiles on their face. I was reminded of my childhood at my grandmother’s place in Tandur.

Uma and Shyama were my friends for almost 12 years. They are sisters and both of them cannot hear or speak. I have never come across multi talanted people like them. They were experts at art – painting, stiching, crafts, cooking and were good at any game or sport we played as kids. Nothing which they could not do. They taught me sign language (mostly only alphabets) which I sometimes still use to cheat in dumsharads :).

Its been a long time since I rememberd them. They are always cheerful all the time. It’s a good feeling thinking about them. I dont think I have a right to complain about anything.

First Workshop

12 01 2009

My first workshop at Golconda… I did not think I could make it due to my ill health :( But I somehow managed to go there.

We first had a demonstration by sir. We used Acrylic colors on the canvas. The idea is to have keep it abstract to get the effect of ruins.

Golconda Workshop

The thing with water colors is you always go from lighter shades to darker. Also if you want a lighter shade of color, you need to add more water. Unlike in oil colors where you add white, you just add more water for lighter shade.

Passion never retires

2 01 2009

The 4 days of vacation have been really good. Lots of sleep and classes. I need to buy a plastic apron! I have damaged 2 of my pants and countless tshirsts with paint :(

Since I had a lot of time, I went to the classes regularly and I was surprised to see that there was an association “Siri Art welfare association” which was for senior students. I do see some elderly people in the class but I could have never guess that there are 30 of the art lovers who meet every second sunday for a Guest lecture.
